Pediatric UC-patients are more likely to get a more aggressive and extensive course of disease in comparison to adults, which can have a massive impact on their overall health and development. Current therapeutic options include corticosteroids, immunomodulators and biologicals as well as surgical options. Therefore identification of possible predictors for severe disease course is necessary.
